Gandhi, Krupa

MI/MFT supported her since 11th Std. In 12th Board exam, she stood 8th in Baroda. Her father runs an Agarbatti lari and his income was not sufficient to fund her education expenses. She completed MBA with flying colours from a reputed college and was selected by TCS.

Yadav, Sangita

MI has supported her throughout diploma course. She is from a very needy family. She topped in Diploma (Mech) at MS University, Baroda and, through campus placement, got selected in ABB Ltd. Her father is very honest and hardworking man. Inspite of our refusal, he started repaying Rs.500 per month to MI/MFT, even before Sangita completed her studies.

Vankar, Dharmesh

MI supported him since 8th Std. His father runs a Pedal Rickshaw and also works as casual labour. For some time, his academic performance was below MI/MFT criteria, but looking at his determination, MI/MFT continued supporting him as a special case. From 11th onwards, he never looked back and, with hard work, he cleared M Com and also professional course of CS. He is presently working as Company Secretary in a reputed organisation.

Duttatray, Jaydeep

MI supported him from Std. 9th till he became a diploma mechanical engineer. Father is working as a sub-staff in a school. He is working with L & T and is also enrolled for BE (evening batch) from M S University.

Bhute, Nirav

MI/MFT supported him since the first year of his Diploma Course. He topped in Diploma (Mech.) from MS University of Baroda and he is presently working with ALSTHOM and then enrolled for B.E. from M S University. He completed BE and he is currently working with L&T. His father is a priest in a temple and has very limited income. He is now regularly contributing to MI/MFT for support of other deserving students. He also helps in assessment of new applications for scholarships by undertaking house visits on behalf of MFT.

Chheda, Harsh

MI/MFT supported for his B. Tech (Chemical). With his hard work and dedication, he topped in his college. Thereafter, for three years, he worked with Essar Refinery, Jamnagar as An Assistant Manager – Production. He then completed his Masters from University of Tulsa in the US and currently holds a good position in New York.

Patel, Ankit

He has been supported by MI/MFT since his graduation days. He stood 1st in Gujarat and 3rd in India in B Pharm. He was also topper in M Pharm at IIT, Banaras. In March, ’15, he represented BHU – IIT team at International Conference at Abu Dabhi where his project was awarded 1st prize. He started as a Researcher in Sun Pharma and is now working with a leading Research Company in Ahmedabad as Scientist.

Saherwala, Rozina

MI/MFT supported her since 11th std. (Science). She was about to choose another stream due to financial constraints, but MI/MFT persuaded her to go for science only considering her aptitude. With her sincerity and hard work, she got 1st rank with Gold Medal in BE (EC) from SVIT, VASAD. She got selected in IBM, Bangalore through campus placement.

Shukla, Dipali

She has been associated with MI since beginning of her graduation. She has completed MBBS with 1st class from Jamnagar University and is presently studying in Final Year – MD Anaesthesia in Surat. Since last 10-12 years, her father has been suffering from brain tumour. Only earning member in the family is her mother whose salary is not enough to feed the family. An Amazing and extra-ordinarily honest and dedicated family. During final year, her elder sister got a job and the family stopped taking assistance so that the funds could be utilized for other deserving students. Every year, her mother helps MFT undertaking home visits for assessment of around 50 new applicants.

Rana, Nirali

She has been associated with MI since beginning of Diploma Course .She stood 1st with GOLD MEDAL in Diploma (Civil) at M S University of Baroda. She is the only student in her batch who got direct admission in BE in MS University of Baroda under Diploma to Degree programme. Through campus selection, she got selected in TORRENT Power Ltd.

MI beneficiary since Std. 11th, topped in M Pharm. Lost his father at an early age and his mother worked as domestic help. Accepted only limited assistance, as needed. Presently working with Alembic Co Ltd.

Suleman, Kamal

During 11-12th, his father (B Com graduate but a small vegetable vendor) personally taught Suleman. He scored 87% in 12th Board and also scored 82% in CPT – CA and also topped Vadodara in CA examination. Started re-paying MI loan even from the limited CA stipend and insisted on doing this so some other needy students could benefit. Presently, he is working in a very reputed company in Pune.

Father worked as office boy. Mother and Dadiji also did office cleaning work, He passed CA (Intermediate) and worked in many leading companies and is presently working in Dubai.

Kayakalp Success Stories

Zala, Tejaswini

She is daughter of an Accountant in private company. She was a bright student in Std. 10th, wanted to pursue Biology stream but due to high coaching fees, she had a double mind. She was instrumental in starting Biology stream in 1st year of Kayakalp, due to which many others students were benefitted. Throughout her Kayakalp stint, she remained a topper in Alembic Vidhyalaya and is now pursuing B. Sc. in MSU as she wants to build a carrier as a researcher in Life Sciences.

Kharwa, Minal

Her father has a cycle repairing kiosk. She is able to achieve her dream of studying Electrical Engineering at MSU only because of free coaching from Kayakalp. If it was not for Kayakalp, she would have been forced to opt for commerce stream.

He comes from a very humble family. His father is Machine operator in a printing press. He was shy and an introvert student. Two years of Kayakalp gave him self-confidence and improved communication abilities. He is now pursuing Mechanical Engineering at BVM, Vidhyanagar.

She daughter of a rickshaw puller, is another example of a promising girl who was able to fulfil her dream of taking Science Stream just because of Kayakalp. She is now in Electrical Engineering in a government college in Bharuch.

In the very first batch of Kayakalp, all the students in science and commerce stream are able to pursue further studies in the line of their choice. Even 12th commerce result is outstanding with five students scoring between 81% to 90%.

Her father has a small carpenter business. He was not able pay school fees. With the help of Mahavir Foundation Trust, she has continued her education and recently she is studying 11th Science in Kayakalp.

Rohit, Laljibhai Rami

He had to drop out of school after 8th as his father expired and the family had no support system, with his mother working as household help. He was working as an assistant on a mobile food cart for a year when Mahavir Foundation Trust got him admitted in 9th std., assuring him and his mother of full support. He passed 9th std. with flying colours (above 82% marks) and is very confident of doing well in Board Examinations. MFT / Asha Deep is indeed very proud of his performance and his drive and feels gratified to have moulded a precious life!

Sheikh, Rubina Mustakbhai

She has been another great shining star of Asha Deep initiative. Her mother expired a few years ago and her father is blind but still manages to sell water pouches at the Railway station to make ends meet. Rubina is driven to make the best of the opportunity she has got which can be seen by her performance – 96% marks!
